U.C.L. ISIGNY SAINTE MERE

The Isigny cooperative was created in 1932 to defend the name of the town "Isigny" and the products which are produced in it and in the surrounding area.
It later merged with the Sainte-Mère Cooperative fo form the Isigny-Ste-Mère Cooperative Dairy Union (UCL). The dairy is in a strong position because it produces the following products with AOCs : Camembert from Normandy, Pont l'Evêque, Cream and Butter from Isigny.
For this reason it has been awarded the Prize for Excellence in the General Agricultural Competition held annually in Paris for being the company that has received the most awards since the creation of the competition.
The cooperative is also active in another sector of the dairy industry; it produces and packages powdered infant formula and powder used in the chocolate, cookie and ice cream industries.
UCL's know-how and technical knowledge were rewarded in 1990 when it became the first company in the food sector to receive the ISO 9002 certification.
