Which products are concerned ?

The IGP is also thename of a region, a limited area or a country.
It is mainly based on a well-defined quality and on the product’s reputation. It relies on the legal specifications’document in order to ensure the product’s constant quality.

The IGP approach could include a production and a processing area with different contours. . 

The concerned products are : free-range chicken from Alsace, Bayonne ham ; free-range calf from Limousin, Tomme de Savoir cheese, rosé garlic from Lautrec and Bergamote from Nancy.

What about in France ?

In order to obtain the IGP Label, in France, the product must already benefit from another label or be granted the « Certificat de Conformité

Today, 58 filing requests concerning 229 products that benefit from the « Label Rouge » Label or from a Regional Label and 4 « Certificat de Conformité » products already have their geographic denomination protected by an IGP.

28 IGP filing request are in the process of registration in Brussels. They concern 14 « Label Rouge » products and 14 « Certificat de Conformité » products.
